Barry J. McLoughlin, President, co-founded McLoughlin Media in 1984 with the firm's Vice President, Laura Peck and has guided its transition into a leading communications training firm in North America, with offices in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada and Washington, DC.
A former television writer, producer and broadcaster, Barry is one of North America's leading communications consultants and seminar leaders, working with political leaders, governments and corporations, conducting over 150 seminars annually, as well as keynote speeches.
Barry is the author of the IABC award-winning Communicate with Power® series of pocket tips books: Encountering the Media®, Getting Your Ideas Across and Overcoming Panic and Fear: Risk and Crisis Communications.
He received his Master's of Public Administration from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University in 1983, where he specialized in the study of the media's impact on government, business and public policy. He received his B.A. from Carleton University in Ottawa, ON, Canada.
Barry is a member of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD) and the Canadian Public Relations Society (CPRS). He is a Fellow with the Clayton H. Riddell Graduate Program in Political Management at Carleton University.
