| He was born in Ireland to James R. and May (Beveridge) McLoughlin.
While in high school he got into stand-up comedy, performing in the Yuk
Yuk's Comedy Clubs and eventually with the Royal Canadian Air Farce.
While studying journalism and mass communications at Carleton
University he broke into television (late one night) writing and
performing in a number of television series from comedy to information
to variety programs. During that time he taught on-camera techniques,
television writing and broadcast advertising part-time at Algonquin
College. This sparked his love for training. After graduating from
Carleton university, Barry earned his Masters of Public Administration
from the Harvard Kennedy School.
Barry and his wife and partner, Laura, have three children - Caroline,
Brendan & Liam. He is a media junkie and loves golf. One day, golf
may love him back. |
