Pierre Pilon worked at Société Radio-Canada (SRC), the French network of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation for over 20 years. In a media career that encompassed both radio and television, he served as a journalist, announcer, director and producer. He has also been national director of training and development for SRC.
As a journalist, he covered a number of high profile events including federal and provincial elections, leadership races, constitutional conferences, budgets, etc. Several of his reports were featured on special public affairs programming broadcast on SRC.
After 15 years behind microphones and cameras, he took on the role of director and eventually, producer, responsible for SRC radio information services in Ottawa. In 1994, as Director of training and development in Montreal, he managed the planning and coordination of the training needs for the national network of SRC radio and television.
Over the past decade, Pierre has been applying his extensive experience in radio and television journalism and his expertise in training to help business people become better communicators, develop efficient communication strategies and manage media relations effectively. He has directed over 500 seminars, workshops and conferences to many of the country's leading public figures and spokespersons.
He also led mandates in the USA, Africa and Mauritius. Some of these projects were made possible with the collaboration of the World Bank, the Commonwealth Broadcasting Association and CBC International.
Pierre Pilon is a member of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC-AIPC) and an accredited trainer with Emploi-Québec. He taught Journalism and Communication at Université de Montreal and was a lecturer for the MBA program at UQAM (Université du Québec à Montréal).
